Did this as fanart for Andrew Hussie's comic, Homestuck. Hussie did the original art, and I just adapted it to work as a logon screen, all art (c) him!! Find it at: www.mspaintadventures.com If it doesn't make sense to you, try reading the comic first!!!
Let me stress this. I cannot stress this enough. This is a BETA. You very well may hate it. FOLLOW THIS GUIDE LIKE GANDHI ON STEROIDS. If you're PC doesn't meet these criteria, don't worry. Some fixes below.
First off, you require a copy of unupdated Windows Vista or (maybe?) Windows 7. IT WILL LOOK AWFUL IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT. You can tell you have this because when you lock (or log off) your PC, you will have a SMALL ICON in the middle of your screen. THIS CHANGES WITH SOME UPDATES TO VISTA. So, try locking your PC now to check. If the icon is about roughly 2.5cm square, you're good. IF NOT, DOOOOON'T BOTHER WITH THIS MAN. I'M TELLING YOU BRO.
Now, hopefully you got by all that okay. First off, you need LogonStudio from Stardock software. Its free, nonintrusive. I think you can even uninstall it after you're done, and its easy to change back. Get it here, now: [link]
Now. You've gone and installed this, and are faced with a window with several options. Now, go download this and open it in LogonStudio, and apply.
Test it by locking your PC. If it tickles your fancy, you've done it right, and it should have Bro's Hat and COOL SHADES, above the icon. If it does NOT tickle your fancy, but rather impales it with a thousand needles of annoyance, you can EASILY change it back with LogonStudio, so don't panic!
FIXES (DO THESE WITH UTMOST CARE. SERIOUS BUISNESS: To remove the ease of access button: [link] To remove the Windows logo and some branding: [link]
====Credits==== Credits go to: Andrew Hussie its like why do I even say this man he's like the creator of everything by proxy. Kuroshiro, who had the idea, and tested it for me. Me, I guess.
Hey! Your background works very well... BUT as I use a graphic tablet, Windows sets me an awful keyboard in screen, wich is anyway useless since, as my cursor goes on, it disappears. Any tip to remove it?
Click the little "ease of use" button in the corner and deselect whichever option says something about the keyboard. (Or, on mine anyway, there was just a keyboard symbol next to aforementioned "Ease of Use" button. Click that and poof, no more keyboard!)
Well, there is indeed this button, but it is unactivated, and if I click it, a second keyboard appears! XD That's kinda hilarious. Well I think it's just because of my drawing tablet. Aniway, thanks
